The implementation of one-to-one wireless learning is one of the most substantive and exciting models in the history of school reform. In anywhere/anytime wireless learning environments, nearly all aspects of teaching and learning are fundamentally changed. In this arena, carefully designed and executed professional development and technical assistance are vital ingredients for success.

Matt Mervis provides professional one-to-one wireless learning services including project leadership support, outcome design, teacher training, curriculum integration, stakeholder outreach and funding development.

Berkshire Wireless Learning Initiative

Over the next three years, more than 2,200 middle school students and more than 200 middle school teachers will be given Apple laptop computers to use in the classroom. As Director of Technology, Matt Mervis led the implementaiton of the Berkshire Wireless Learning Inaitive (www.bwli.org) for North Adams Public Schools in conjuction with the Superintendent and School Committee.

Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School

Matt Mervis currently serves as the Project Coordinator for the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School Laptop Initiative in Dorchester, MA (www.lgfnet.org). The Frederick is leading the development of a plan for the deployment and integration of personal computing devices (e.g., laptop computers) for 700 students starting in 2007.
